  • Honestly, learning things one way kind of sticks with you. I’ve also done a lot more —I wouldn’t say advanced— maybe just above basic stuff in excel that I just don’t want to relearn how to do it differently; like making auto-fill using a csv database, and yes I’m lazy but hey I only worked 2 hours out of an 8 hour day.

I use libre for everything else, though their spelling correction is annoying. Don’t you dare use a British English spelling sigh.

  • So there was this fiction book series I read about cybersecurity. Old tech is the ultimate security in the story, it’s creepy how parallel it is to today. You would have to take some extra steps to make it secure but you would be out of the radar of the majority.

The whole premises is like how Macintosh was considered being secure was because nobody wanted to waste their finding vulnerabilities to it since it was such a small batch of users. Of course that changed. But you can use what you have as dedicated forks for certain functions as a layer of security. W11 is going to likely have more vulnerabilities compared to W7 since no one really uses it anymore. Or even LTSB/LTSC forks. You would have to be on a list if you’re getting attention.

  • I mean it’s simple.

Everyone is worried even if they don’t say so.

Technology has been shoved down our throats. Now there’s llms; this is referencing something simple like getting bot calls on a daily basis for a pretend “human” to get transferred to “John” with a thick Indian accent.

It’s hot outside. I remember having to wear a jacket in the winter, and now I want to take my skin off.

Video games were fun or challenging; now they’re pay to win.

Playing in the backyard isn’t cool anymore because 'gotta keep up with the other kids on their phones and so forth.

Depends on where you’re at; anger? High levels of CO2 cause that. The fun factor about global warming that isn’t often discussed. Having parking lots of cars at stop lights makes this worse. It gets worse when stores cut back on AC and filtration.

The political spectrum is well on a spectrum; so the confidence is gone there.

All of these aspects exhaust people. Especially advertising on every corner.

Hah they love that paste stuff too much. Funny thing, my cats learned not to bite or use their claws. You can try some unsalted tuna water and a drop of cranberry juice to help with the stones if that’s an issue. My cat responds to commands ironically, like if I snap my fingers or say come here, he will follow or jump on wherever I point to. He’s a mostly Norwegian Forest cat though. He watches the door when I sleep or feel sick as well. It’s a shame he got neutered, I don’t let my cats outside unless they’re on my shoulder either.

    I didn’t know that, that’s kinda cool.

I would say cat’s have a “no fucks’ givin” personality. Which in a way I like, but it does seem like they have a different mental structure. My other cat is a scaredy cat and runs away from me sometimes… yet he always sleeps in my bed or laundry and hides under my bed when there’s a storm (Stockholm Syndrome?) or comes to complain to me when he doesn’t get his treats; oh yeah and protests by eating dry food if I don’t give him wet food.
