        That’s a terrible choice in a children’s book. Kids are supposed to learn how to read.

        And English is an unusually difficult language for learning to read anyway. The spelling is completely inconsistent (who decided to fix the spelling during a great vowel shift?).

          It’s best if kids learn early that English isn’t a language. It’s three languages in a trenchcoat, and as soon as you try and create rules it pokes you in the eye.
