Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•"Not to brag, but I think we nailed the worst rug option available"
37·5 days agoSure , that still lands on your floor, and you wash the floor.
You’re being overly sensitive. It’s well known the average sink has way more bacteria than a toilet, yet that’s where we wash the dishes. Do you stop using the sink because it’s gross?

28·5 days agoHow is that disgusting, do you tend to pee around the toilet? They’re also washable…
Markdown has a core spec and then endless flavours. I assume what they’re saying Lemmy chose to not use underscore markup.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Official Linux position on LLM usage in kernel development
167·11 days agoIf your chatbot is shitting code, don’t contribute to anything important. LLM is a navigation, you’re the one behind the wheel, and ultimately responsible for where you end up.

1·11 days agoThere are use cases for everything. Cheaper electricity during the night - schedule the dryer to sync with that. Disabled and can’t reach the AC or light controls easily? Do it through your phone.
The real problem IMO is that these are implemented poorly, insecurely* and often through closed ecosystems, remote servers and million apps.
If this was done well, users like you could ignore the features, and others could make use of them. When you can’t turn a fan on because your Fast Fans app logged you out, then I’d just rather not…
No, that would cost too much extra in manufacturing, and we’re all sitting for this anyway

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Tech bros having their production environments nuked by AI is never gonna get old
9·12 days agoLet’s be honest, you have to be extremely careless to have agents running destructive commands freely in prod

My texts are rubbish because, somehow, the keyboard predictions & autocorrect are worse now than 5 years ago. We have LLMs barfing out fully coherent sentences on their own, how does this even happen.
I wonder how much they’ve lost in total. So many hours, injection molds, and presumably good chunk of the production. Surprisingly careless!
If you take it slow, the 3rd season starts airing next month :)
Definitely worth if you’ve liked the books, it really puts the size of things into perspective (visually)
Didn’t they go through a lot of effort to not have to have many testers?
They have rolling releases and preview channels for regular users to bugtest for them.
All this money can now be spent where it matters - on a new yacht
Silo. Loved the books, the show is good too.
Postapocaliptic isolated society kind of thing with a mystery aspect, for those unaware. Lots of twists.
