That’s great that they have headphone jacks but these are otherwise terrible phones, with max 2 years of software updates and, in the case of Sony, absolutely massive and crazy expensive. Plus they added a subscription fee for their one main selling point: working as an external display for Sony cameras.

There are a bunch of great build suggestions on the homepage of PCPartPicker. Really the only consideration if you want to use Linux is to go with AMD for your GPU (they’re usually a better value anyway).
I wouldn’t recommend any prebuilts, they’re usually not a good value. Plus you can learn a lot about computers if you DIY and it can be helpful to diagnose in the future.
If you choose a case without a transparent side panel and ignore RGB and glamorous components, you can get better performance.

Microsoft is subject to US authority because they’re a US-based business. Meaning the gov can fine them or take away their business license or demand access to information they have stored, or any number of other things that Linux is simply not subject to, because they’re not a business and don’t store any user data at all.
