Family sharing is a great idea, but for now it only works with one of the two games I bought for my kids.

Street Fighter V and Sonic All Star Racing work flawlessly on my profile, but Sonic doesn’t work on my kid’s profiles, which is weird as it’s supposed to support family sharing.

Well for now all the kids games were bought on Steam so it’s easy to just use the Steam family.

I guess I’ll stick to Steam games for them and try to get verified ones so that there is almost nothing to set up.

On GOG I only have adult games or old kid games that my kids would probably find too old because it ain’t Fortnite anyway, but I wish it was easy to share things in a family through GOG.

And I know the games are DRM free so I can just copy them, but I wouldn’t want to have multiple installs on my Deck which already doesn’t have enough storage…

I don’t agree as that’s why you can switch profiles.

Also the Deck is cheap, but what’s the point of having 3 devices when only one person is really using it and the kids would just it once in a while.

We have one kitchen so we can have one Deck😅

Last time I checked Kagi didn’t have an option for people who just do a few searches a month so it ended being too expensive for me.

I don’t know anything about wireless trackpads, but I love my workflow with Gnome and I know it wouldn’t be doable if I wasn’t working on a laptop.

Using the keyboard just wouldn’t be the same.

I paid 300$ for mine and I’m almost not using my Playstation 5 anymore, except for really demaning games and Sim Racing.

It also allowed me to sell my Switch and its games for 239$, so you could say I paid 61$ for my LCD Deck with 256gb😅

Yeah. At first you think that you still need some Windows programs so you dual-boot, and then you discover that you don’t need these programs anymore😅

I don’t remember how I did it but I guess it wasb’t so difficult since I had no previous experience.

But I think I only used it once and then moced to something else.

I heard that the Playstation 3 would be able to run something called Linux and I wanted to become some kind of Neo😅

Then I went on and off between Windows and Ubuntu until fully switching to Linux around 2020.

Running Fedora with Gnome these last few years.

It solved every problem but I have to redo the operation maybe once every two years.

XCOM 2 is a great game to play on the Deck. The touchpad are perfect for such games and I eouldn’t picture myself playing it with a mouse/keyboard or Playstation 5 controller.

I have an LCD Steam Deck which I got used for around 300$ since I already have a Ps5 and the Deck was my first time trying pc gaming.

Because of how everyone was praising the OLED, I thought the screen would be bad, but it is awesome to my eyes.

The battery management is the annoying part of an handheld, but you also have it, maybe less, with the OLED.

If the prices were the same, I don’t see why someone wouldn’t get an OLED model, but it ain’t the case and I wasn’t be ready to pay more than 300$, so an used LCD was perfect.

Well I’ve just learned that you already had FSR 1-2 in Steam OS without adding any plugin. So I guess what I was talking about is already there but I’m just not using it😅

I’m tempted by all these frane gen mods, but I don’t want to install decky loader for now as Steam Os already feels a bit too beta for me compared to want I’m used to on Gnome or Playstation.

I hope it’ll be officialy brought to Steam Os at one point.

Yeah I wish Framework, Tuxedo or Stillbook produced a Linux phone🤞

In my country, for all the banks I use, I need to have an app on my phone to access their website with my Linux computer.

So a Linux phone would need to provide this as I can’t be without access to my accounts.

I’ve never tried an immutable OS, but I’d love if the ability to do system backups and redeploy to another computer was just part of any OS.

Especially when Linux encourages you to distro hopp.

Clonezilla is great but it already happened to me that one backup wasn’t deployable on another (really old) computer

What is a bash script? Is it something I’d have to write mysel using the terminal? Sorry but my skills are quite limited for now.
