I landed on the waiting list like many of you, but that’s okay, it gives me more time to read feedback and experiences from folks who buy one in the first round.

While we wait, what games do you actually want to play on the Frame when you get yours? Please specify if it’s a VR title or non-VR title (unless it’s a super popular one like Hades or Portal that everyone will recognize).

I went through the Steam store “great on frame” listings as well as the overall VR listings, and IMO it’s quite a mixed bag. There’s fairly good variety but many of the “overwhelmingly positive” titles are relatively old, like even 2017-2022. And many of the newer titles don’t seem to have a lot of players yet.

Of course, if you have no intention of ever buying a Frame or want to discourage others or even hype some other device, please just refrain from commenting. This simply isn’t the thread for you.

I’m also very intrigued by the whole “spacial computing” thing.

I certainly hope to get a lot of use out of the Frame as a glorified monitor for basic computing tasks, but from what I can tell reading reviews and whatnot, it’s not all that great compared to the Apple VR thing. I sure want to give that a fair shot, though.

glorified monitor for basic computing tasks

This is what I wanted when getting ‘quest 2’ years ago but low resolution and jittery UI/text hit like a truck. lol

I wish I had a way of trying out better headsets to see what they’re capable of…

The Steam Frame doesn’t have that much higher resolution than that, so I am not all that optimistic that it well be noticeably better. The Vision Pro resolution is much higher. According to Wikipedia:

        HMD resolution technology
        Quest 1440 × 1600 OLED
        Quest 2 1832 x 1920 LCD
        Quest 3 2064 × 2208 LCD
        Quest 3S 1832 x 1920 LCD
        Vision Pro 3660 × 3200 OLED
        Bigscreen Beyond 2560 x 2560 micro OLED
        Index 1440 × 1600 LCD
        Steam Frame 2160 × 2160 LCD

I am still going to give it a fair shot and try.
