I landed on the waiting list like many of you, but that’s okay, it gives me more time to read feedback and experiences from folks who buy one in the first round.

While we wait, what games do you actually want to play on the Frame when you get yours? Please specify if it’s a VR title or non-VR title (unless it’s a super popular one like Hades or Portal that everyone will recognize).

I went through the Steam store “great on frame” listings as well as the overall VR listings, and IMO it’s quite a mixed bag. There’s fairly good variety but many of the “overwhelmingly positive” titles are relatively old, like even 2017-2022. And many of the newer titles don’t seem to have a lot of players yet.

Of course, if you have no intention of ever buying a Frame or want to discourage others or even hype some other device, please just refrain from commenting. This simply isn’t the thread for you.

      Tried Elite:D sorta briefly, yes. Not on my current higher-end machine though, that was the old (but decent) rig. The game felt too dry, and I say that as someone who even likes the Star Trek TNG episodes where Picard argues the details of Starfleet policy versus interplanetary diplomacy, heh.

      But I definitely got the impression that VR would be a huge boost so I definitely wanna give the title another shot.

      CORRECTION: It wasn’t my own impression, I deserve no credit. It was this editorial by Lee Hutchinson that put Elite VR on my gaming bucket list.

        When showing people VR for the first time, Elite was one of the games that I would pull up, starting with a docked ship. The sense of scale, from starting in the ship to looking at the hangar, to the ship getting slotted into the docking bay, and then flying from the docking bay out into open space with a planet in the background? Incredible.

        You’re not wrong that the gameplay only has so much to it, and it does get grindy - but it’s one of the best of its genre at the moment, especially when you limit it to stuff that works in VR. Star Citizen might top it depending on your opinion, but 1) it’ll never see a full release and 2) it’s so resource hungry that I’m wary of trying to run it in VR. I upgraded my computer partly BECAUSE Star Citizen ran like molasses and it still didn’t hit 30FPS after getting a new CPU/mobo/RAM, probably because my GPU is seven years old.
