Virginia’s new law permits workers in companies with 10 or more employees to tap into a program to receive up to 80% of their pay while on leave. Though it will entail some initial state funding to set up, eventually the program would be jointly funded as most employers and employees pay into it over time.
So universal healthcare, except not universal (only people employed by a company with more than 10 employees)…
Gotta keep the means checking. If you can’t work because you’re sick with cancer, where is your employer funded insurance?
Fucking idiots can’t see the whole picture. Don’t understand economies of scale. Probably don’t know how much of their employers total compensation package is your insurance (my employer splits costs 60/40. They pay 30k/yr and I pay 20k, family plan).
They just want to set up benefits so that the indigent don’t get any support. How very Christian of them.
It’s not universal health care at all though. It just means you still get paid some portion of your regular salary when you take sick leave. The health care costs are still there.
