You call around to nearby dentists and collect em from anyone without a digital xray machine
You can get it online, at most metal depots and lots of jewelery suppliers carry it as well. It’s used in a bunch of stuff and is just a general commodity - though it’s much less common today than it was back when superman was written.
Plumbing supply stores.
You use it to line shower pans
