Dang that sucks! I’ve heard it can take ages for the brain to heal from injuries. Hope your symptoms get better soon.
I ended up working in Product at a tech company. Definitely not a career I’d ever heard about before landing or envisioned myself doing, but it’s been great for supporting my dream life.
I feel pretty fortunate that my lowest point wasn’t that bad in the grand scheme of things.
I was stuck in a dead end job that paid peanuts and was in a somewhat codependent relationship with someone who was not good for me. I also couldn’t afford to move out of my parents basement due to the crappy job.
Ultimately, I realized I had to make drastic changes due to being pretty miserable with my life. I quit my job and went back to uni for a more marketable degree. I worked my ass off to get good internships and ended up at one that turned into a full-time job that I’ve now been at for over a decade. My ex did me the favor of dumping me. I ended up meeting my now spouse at my career job. We bought a house, got a dog, have traveled to numerous countries, and saved enough money that work is becoming increasingly optional.
Overall, I just had to recognize that the status quo was making me miserable and starting to incrementally making changes to my life that would get me closer to where I wanted to be. Past me never could have imagined what was to come for present me, but by just taking one step at a time to improve things, I’ve found incredible happiness.

Veterinarian, marine biologist, or actor depending on what age you asked me. Now, I am none of those things.

Anywhere between 24.5 and 97.7%. Those are crazy numbers!

Did they lower it for Charlie Kirk?

Italian is essentially a cross between Spanish and French. If you know both, you’re basically 80% of the way to knowing Italian.
Given how much more practical French is, I’d say learn it first, then learn Italian later.

I’ve seen it generally recommended to sequence protein and fiber before anything else in the meal. So yes eating your carbs an hour earlier would in fact be worse for your blood sugar.
I’m not sure how it would be impacted if you ate the carbs an hour later though.
Last time I was at the grocery store, I noticed half the tags were set to “Out of Stock” even though the items were clearly in stock. This effectively meant you had no clue what the price of the item was until you check out.

I might’ve eaten a disgusting amount of Costco sized Doritos during the early pandemic. A giant bag for $3.50. Now those bags are closer to $8 and I can’t remember the last time I bought chips.
You should totally do it! It’s a fairly cheap country to travel in. I think we averaged $30/night for accommodations when we went last year, though I did cheap out somewhat by mostly booking private rooms in guest houses/hostels. My spouse was less than amused by our place in Cusco that had live wires in the shower, though 😂
Food is amazing. People were super friendly. The history was fascinating. And the scenery is absolutely unreal. They literally have it all.

Most junk food in the US has gone off the rails in terms of price. Like seriously, don’t spend money on food that has zero nutritional value and is actively harmful to your health. You’ll feel so much better and your bank account will be so much bigger.
I guess I have corporate America to thank for no longer buying chips, candy, or baked goods that I might’ve otherwise splurged on as a treat. Can’t justify it with prices the way they are.
A stunning city. I wish I had a picture from the airport tarmac, as I think that may be the best view from any airport.

You can look into container gardens if you have a balcony. Also consider if plug in solar is an option for you (it’s slowly spreading through the US).
I’ve heard getting a box fan and putting a bowl of ice in front of it can act as a poor man’s AC.

I’m pretty sure I would have died. It took me way too long to spot it.
I guess IRL the sound would’ve helped.

They may be processed, but they aren’t ultra processed.

Somewhat small, but I’d say one of the most useful inventions that is used by literally everyone…the ballpoint pen was invented in Argentina.

I’m currently trying to learn Hungarian, and was able to find content using this method. I’m sure there are just as many resources for Polish and there are for Hungarian (maybe even more?).
Yup it is part of the annual code of conduct training at my work.
I also had to attend sexual harassment and alcohol abuse lectures as a part of freshman orientation at my university back 20ish years ago. It didn’t cost extra, so I’m not sure what the title is referring to. The title makes it seem like they are infuriated by the required training in general, which really doesn’t make much sense to me.
