What’s crazy is that my small UPS consumes 20W at idle (fully charged; AC connected).
I got my server down to 40W too, and the UPS ate all the savings.

That’s amazing. I’ll have to take your word for it. I only have Firefox on my devices.

For the last bit of a single coffee? That’s a fully organic compound.
You’d probably get the same fine for emptying a drum of used motor oil into it.

Take them one stop further to Hozukyō and throw them into the gorge.

convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
I didn’t think he made it to trial. Did I miss something?

I’m surprised it’s so low. My brother in law just sent me a photo posing with the red-bellied black snake that he found in his suburban Melbourne backyard today.

The Australian ones (whitetails) are more populous, venemous, and aggressive than you could imagine in summer. I’d have a kill one inside my house almost every day.
It probably doesn’t help that our houses seal worse than an average tent.

I didn’t open port 53. It’s DoT.
Even then, it took some extra effort to ensure it didn’t return internal network addresses from the outside.

Not quite pihole. I just slapped Lowe’s adlist on BIND9.

I found this was returning localised results from the other side of the planet, so I kept connecting to slow servers when more local ones were available. I ended up rolling my own from home. The only problem is there’s no way to do access control so I just have to hope not too many find it.

Good luck with using AI. The training dataset will be polluted, and so will the data of individual accounts.
My TV is signed into YouTube as me, but all my kids use it to watch Minecraft videos. Google probably knows my age by now, and all this will get flagged as typical viewing for a millenial.

The flag on the Eiffel Tower is already back to a French flag. I took this pic a few hours ago.

I’ve seen the Palestinian flag on a few buildings though.
The troubleshooting section of the manual is almost always useless because it only ever covers user error.
My washer threw a drainage error and the manual suggested I blocked the outlet or had done something daft. I looked up the error code online and 90% of the time it was a failed water pump.
I had to replace the water pump. It was an easy job that required less documentation than a lego set for a 5 year old. You just had to know which screws to loosen to get to the pump. Was it documented? Of course not.
I did this a few months back.
Some things aren’t as great, but you get full control and your server idles way better on JellyFin.

The owners closed the restaurant and started a new one so I let the domain lapse.

OK, here’s how it happened.
I was hungry, and I wanted to see the menu for my local pizza joint. I couldn’t find it anywhere.
I discovered that all their socials linked to a website that wouldn’t load. When I checked, the domain had lapsed.
Out of frustration, I purchased the domain and pulled the last snapshot of their website off archive.org. It had their full menu as a PDF.
6 months later and it’s still getting visitors from their facebook page, who are viewing the menu. They haven’t even realised.

Host all the things!
Wordpress, SMTP/IMAP, tor, bittorrent, Nextcloud, Plex, NTP, photo galleries, DoT…
I even started hosting the website for my local Italian restaurant and they haven’t even realised it yet.
I have this and I will not change.
