NATO is both a protection agreement and a tool to bind its members to somel level of US control. A new alliance is needed without the US. It should start with Europe (not just the EU, it should include the UK and non-EU countries) and it could then attract Canada, Australia, Japan, … But that requires members to get their shit together and rebuild their respective armies. And all the countries that bought F35 just bound themselves to the US for decades again. So it looks really bad right now.
Declare them terrorist and ban their members from travelling to Europe would be a start. Unfortunately the EU is soft most of the time on these issues. See Russia carrying spying and sending drone and even jet fighters without the slightest consequence.

Can’t tell for all of the equipment (from my understanding, they happily buy 100% US…), but for the F35, that’s not exact. It needs constant update, and from what I read, it is still usable for ~30 days after they would ban it from the network. But “usable” means back to pen and paper on board for missions…
