Its a gimmick because it only worked in a few benchmark tests. Everywhere else it was 120hz. Perhaps, it would’ve been unlocked for a few games they missed.

1·9 days agoIf it was actually doing something outside of adding AI label to more features. I could’ve agreed. But, doing what everyone else is doing. What’s rebellious or defiant here?
Nothing also has something akin to mindspace. Are they hiring the same 3rd party devs? These stupid AI gimmicks need to stop. Focus on actual UX and UI improvement for once. This AI stupidity is way out of hand. Especially, when the processing is done by a handful of cloud providers.

4·11 days agoYou don’t need this feature. But, it’s a nice convenience. Especially, if you pay flagship prices for a phone. Having a backup magnetic powerbank in an emergency is one use case, magnetic wallets are another.

6·11 days agoYes, I saw this in a comparison test where the iphone lost in a battery test while using a wireless magsafe powerbank against Xiaomi 17 with its single internal battery.

8·23 days agoThis most interesting thing to me is the charging time.
It takes 2hrs tk refill this 20k mAh powerbank strapped to a phone and projector at 45w.
My power bank of similar size takes 3-4hrs which is high.

Android@lemdro.id•Samsung's One UI 8.5 update is an even bigger deal than you thoughtEnglish
4·23 days agoTL;DR
- Leaked builds show Samsung’s next One UI 8.5 update, debuting with the Galaxy S26, will be based on Android 16’s second quarterly release (QPR2).
- This is significant because most device makers skip quarterly Android updates, delaying new features until the next major annual version is released.
- By adopting QPR2, Samsung can bring new Android platform features to Galaxy devices much faster than before, matching Google’s own release cadence.

8·26 days agoYou do need to submit an ID if your app gets a larger audience. Plus, the account requirement stays. With the way google bans developer accounts I wouldn’t be surprised if your hobby developer gets an axe once a while.
It’s not hard to imagine them abusing/being compelled to limit apps based on regional restrictions or perhaps other apps terms of service. Like newpipe could be nuked out of nowhere assuming it even gets a say since it breaks YouTube’s Terms of service.
Or manga, book reading apps getting the axe due to copyright strike. Plus, the devs could get doxxed again due to copyright strike.
No sane developer should risk submitting this personal information to google for a side or hobby or even a community project.

Even for hobby projects you would be required to create a limited developer account and submit government identification if you want to distribute apps to a larger audience.
