  • “Or is it really just keeping your mouth shut if you aren’t knowledgeable about something.”
i often abreviate by saying “i know some stuff about X topic…” just leave it at that.
if they really want to listen then they will request my expertise. im not going to beg to abused while im trying to do someone a favor.
but first, i just dont conversate deeply with shitty people.
if someone has a good heart, then maybe they might not be the best conversation partner. thats ok. as long as they deliver on all the essential value, that i need from them.
complaining to the city clerk about various issues with the city. i think thats challenging and requires alot of carefully scripted+rehearsed fomation&responses.
i dont have a good answer. but maybe act kinda like a carefully controlled, unemotional, plan-adhering robot. (add back in some scripted emotion so that you dont sound like a robot.)

  • i think climate would be one of the the biggest & obvious un-modifiable factor.
if solo camping, then somewhere warm but not prone to extreme deadly heat spikes.
assuming the west is undeveloped and rugged, then probably that. (based on the premise that the eastern half is overcrowded AND thats a bad thing(?))
i would try to hit exurbs but be nearby civilization. else… just be inside a city or near a friendly town.
its extremely complicated to forsee from an armchair. would require testing, optionality, and careful decisionmaking(and research&valid+complete_data), plus low-stake trial&error(also risk assesment, risk mitigation, safety procedures).

  • intended for an unrelated(independant) topic: i would estimate that americans average daily allocation for being in public is 1.25 hours.
which is why i think alot of public space in cities are messed up, "IF you actually LIVE in them (not just drive past, from point A to point B . or spend all your time in the house/working/sleeping)
from my experience, that one hour is probably in a privatized space. and there also possible distraction/competition from smartphones or music.

the point im trying to argue: the streets are scary… i get it. but if ppl only spend less than 1 hour a day in public, then essentially the streets become neglected anarchy space. its not suprising that the problem becomes a spiral. nobodys living, watching, or experiencing it.

  • i was thinking this would be related to ontology
“What ontologies in both information science and philosophy have in common is the attempt to represent entities, including both objects and events, with all their interdependent properties and relations, according to a system of categories. In both fields, there is considerable work on problems of ontology engineering (e.g., Quine and Kripke in philosophy, Sowa and Guarino in information science),[5] and debates concerning to what extent normative ontology is possible (e.g., foundationalism and coherentism in philosophy, BFO and Cyc in artificial intelligence).”
