I totally disagree. My tax money goes towards paying for a military, the genocide in Palestine, the funding of the police, the funding of prisons, the funding of the courts, and so on. I object to all of those institutions. I want to see the state collapse, because it is an instrument of oppression.

By building a people powered movement through solidarity, establishing workers co-operatives, industrial unionization, pro-revolutionary social spaces and through direct action. As the working class becomes increasingly organized and class conscious, we can increasingly reject capitalism and the state. If the working class refuses to perform labor for the ruling class, in an ideal world, we can remove them from power without a single loss of life. In reality, they would use violence against us, so we would need to be ready to defend ourselves.

By all means, vote away, under our current system, it can be viewed as harm reduction. But if you have time and energy to spare, that time and energy would be far better spent agitating for real change and engaging in the activities I mentioned above.

Vitally, learn about anarchism, and how it presents a solution to our deeply, fundamentally broken society.

The military, the media, the intelligence services, the judiciary, lobbyists, and so on. And people can be corrupt and selfish even if they start with good intentions.

There is only one solution: revolution.

I have no problem with the people. I have a massive problem with the society. Criticising one does not mean that I have a personal problem with the people who comprise that society.

It’s all built on exploitation. Tourism is just another kind of exploitation. So, no, I think by telling people they should be thankful for their oppression, you were doing a shitty thing. That doesn’t mean you’re a shitty person, I just want you to reflect instead of brushing concerns under the rug.

Being “nice” won’t get us to where we need to be. Solidarity and class consciousness will.

It’s everyone’s fault, collectively. We all need to rise up and overthrow the ruling class. To achieve that, we need to actually talk about the problems our current society has without taking it all personally, and reflect on how the structure of our society has created the problems we have. It’s not about who specifically we have to blame, that’s a distraction.
