Yes well I agree, my knowledge in my field isn’t something I came up with, but it does allow me to point towards that knowledge so others may learn.

No, no, no, we need to invite the scorpion on to the back of the frog again, this time it won’t sting, promise…
Joking aside, how long does the world put up with a literal death cult teaching its kids that their meaning in life is to die for the death cult before we realise that something has to change.
I just wish the Israelis hadn’t decided that mass killings were the answer. I also wish the Muslims in the area had found a way to give space for the Palestinians, but then we get back to the scorpion and the frog… Sigh…
Yep, not everyone is an armchair whatever. Some of us have specific knowledge in certain areas (through hard work) and like to counter misinformation.
Still get called armchair so and so’s though…

2·7 days agoI agree with everything you’ve said, either the teachings of the prophet are the word of god or they aren’t, I have never quite understood the acceptance of revelations by non prophets or teachings that were created long after the prophets death, doesn’t matter which prophet we’re talking about.
but again I’m just speaking of my own thoughts on the matter. people can, obviously, believe what they like.

1·7 days agoyeah I hear you, for my part quranists are an interesting one as so much of the actual practices require some observance of the hadiths, such as explaining how to pray and perform Hajj. although from a logical point of view I do sympathise with the want to stay as close to the teaching of the prophet as they can. as to the historical side of what happened 1400 years ago, well it’s all a wash to me, we’ll never know.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•All of a sudden he thinks that it's a spectacular plan.English
2·7 days agounderstood, all the hadiths were created after Muhammad lived and all were passed through some number of people. even the quran wasn’t actually compiled in to a single book until after his death and relied on a lot of memorised spoken word. its all sketchy but when people cherry pick which they like and which they don’t, it can become foolish really, imho. it’s either all the “word of god” or none of it is (thats my logic obviously, I don’t expect everyone to agree). what I quoted is from a hadith that is very widely accepted. and if that isn’t enough then I don’t know how you can accept any hadith based on the same criteria. if you don’t follow the surrah then many (most) would consider you kafir.

476·7 days agonot it isn’t islamaphobic,
Sunan an-Nasa’i 3379
narrated in her own words:
“The Messenger of Allah married me when I was six, and consummated the marriage with me when I was nine.”
Sunan an-Nasa’i is a collection of hadith compiled by Imam Ahmad an-Nasa’i (rahimahullah). His collection is unanimously considered to be one of the six canonical collections of hadith (Kutub as-Sittah) of the Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ)
if you don’t believe it then you aren’t momin (a true believer) the quran gives the what, the hadiths give the how, you can pick and choose but most wouldn’t consider you a true Muslim.

2·8 days agowell said, and as someone from Chatham (the word didn’t originated there but was adopted by, and connected with the people of that city, as well as others) this absolutely was used as a descriptor of a particular type of person/s. just like redneck and bogan it was just a societal descriptor of a demographic phenomenon. whether it was chav or some other word it doesn’t matter, the same connotations would have been applied.
ha, a wise move indeed in these trying times. anyway, good luck to you friend!
kids man, they don’t understand the word privacy. as we speak my 11 has just interrupted my bath to take a piss lol.

2·9 days agoI think you make a great point about the means Israel uses.
I think they have a right to defend themselves when attacked but it does seem that every time they step so far past the acceptable that the results are truly horrific, the current genocide is evil incarnate.
I didn’t know about the peel partition proposal, thank you for enlightening me. every time I read the words of Ben gurion I’m slightly astounded, such duplicity, and that is has so much support is mind boggling to me.
just shows that the peace process has always been a cover for their plans, I mean he states it plainly. wild that they have always had so much support from the west , I’ve never understood western Christians support tbh.

2·9 days agoyep, doesn’t make it untrue though.
war is always horrible.
most counties that take part in wars though at least attempt to follow some sort of rules, apparently there’s is zero accountability for the Israeli militaries actions and hasn’t been for decades.
I see another post about them torturing babies to force confessions from their parents, I’m not sure I know of anything more evil.

World News@lemmy.world•From Sde Teiman, the truth about Israel’s military justice system has been set freeEnglish
2·9 days ago"According to data obtained through freedom of information requests to the army by the Israeli human rights organization Yesh Din (for which I serve as a legal advisor), between 2016 and 2024 the military enforcement authorities were informed of 2,427 complaints regarding harm to Palestinians by soldiers in the occupied West Bank. The army opened investigations into only 552 of these cases (22.7 percent of the complaints), and only 23 led to indictments (0.9 percent).
In the Gaza Strip, the situation is not much better: More than 1,500 complaints related to soldiers’ conduct since October 2023 have so far yielded only two indictments."
no matter what or who started this conflict the nature of Israel’s “defence” (now genocide) is just indefensible. war is horrible always but there needs to be accountability.

12·9 days agono one is mad. except maybe the people who are writing rambling essays because of a comment from a stranger. I hope you enjoyed wasting your time.

The group is called “the base”.
Now where have I heard that phrase before.
“Al-Qaeda” (Arabic: القاعدة, al-qāʿidah) translates directly to “the base” or “the foundation”
Incredible…
