That’s an Asian Lady Beetle actually, not a ladybug. They’re an invasive species that was intentionally introduced in an attempt to control aphids and can sometimes but not always be differentiated from ladybugs by the color of their elytron (hard coating which protects their wings), which can be orange rather then red.

But how else am I supposed to pet the alligators? Do you seriously expect me to go all the way to Africa to pet the crocodiles in the Nile instead?
