None of the Android 16 changes so far have made my phone nicer to use. Most of them have been jarring and unpleasant. This is absolutely vile.

Thanks for doing the research but I’m not in the States. They’re out of stock at Anycubic here and significantly more expensive at resellers. Ender 3 V3 SE is AU$259 direct for me, whereas the Kobra is AU$368 (out of stock). Resellers have them for up to AU$500.

Interesting. Where I am the Kobra 3 seems to be either out of stock or ~160% the price of the Ender. Unless I’m missing a bargain somewhere, which is possible.

I see auto-leveling as a nice-to-have. It’s not a deal breaker for me at this point because pretty much anything is going to be an upgrade from the K7.

IIRC, the term predates Android, and was originally coined to refer to installing non-apple applications on the original iPhone. At the time, this could only be done via cable. So, as distinct from “downloading” from the app store to the device, it does make a certain kind of sense. It’s been accepted into the vernacular with a slightly warped meaning, but that’s language for you.

Most interesting part of this article is the mention of VegaOS, which I hadn’t heard of. Not because I approve of anything Amazon does, ever, but depending on how much of a Linux it actually is, the jailbreaking / homebrew potential is intriguing.

This isn’t -bad- news, but I’m still not impressed. They could have just, you know, not done it in the first place. They don’t get credit for partially walking back a bad decision. The “advanced flow” is more likely a dark pattern, and will still have a chilling effect on FOSS uptake and distribution, which is still the intended purpose of the change.

+1 for Soulseek. Torrents for music tend to be very hit and miss.
