Probably “medical examiner” or similar medical doctor that does work for the police to determine things like cause of death and other injuries possibly obtained while dying.
Senior Chief Petty Officer. Starfleet is in my blood, and I’ve spent my entire adult life in service to boldly going.
Keiko and Molly are my favorite humans, but Transporter Room 3 will always be my favorite.
Just don’t ask who what’s in the pattern buffer.

It’s not really heartbreaking when you know the reason the worst person you know is even talking is to try and distract from their own shit.
Doesn’t make it less true, just less heartbreaking.

The Budapest memorandum of 1994 ensured that the US and UK would "Seek immediate Security Council action to provide assistance to the signatory if they “should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used”
That happened. It’s a promise to bring the issue to the UN security council for a vote on action. Not a promise to invade any attacking country.
What also happened is that Russia, a seat on the security council, has the power to veto, and a conflicting interest here that the UN decided couldn’t possibly be a problem in the future.
I’m not saying we have done enough.
I am, however, saying that we have held up our end of the agreement, as written on paper.
As far as I’m concerned, my country is 1/3 of the reason they’re in this mess, so we need to step in and directly protect them at the bare minimum. Ukraine isn’t safe until their borders are restored to pre-2014, their infrastructure is repaired and improved, and they have enough to defend themselves from Russia AND the US. And also the government stooges of Russia get put to death for forcing their population to fight and die against an opponent who never wanted a fight to begin with.

“Vladimir Putin says-”
Lemme stop you right there, pardner.
Don’t care.

Because it’s a lot easier to discredit a religious argument when the sermon cites “4th Thessalossians 67:B” and gives the most generic sounding paragraph with the one weirdly specific phrase they instructed the bot to include and em—dash thrown in for good measure.
At least if they all use the same manual, it’s easier to pull over the ones who are on the fence.

I don’t have a perfect memory but I do have a good one, and I can confirm that the pastor at my parents church when I was growing up re-used sermons from multiple years prior.
So at least some recycle. As expected, they are still just as (ir)relevant.
“That’s disgusting! Which ones?!”

If I had to guess, it’s because up until now you’ve held the assumption that the people in power know what they’re doing for the most part, and nobody was a dying felon in his last years on earth terrified of going to prison for raping children.
Now you are under no such illusions, and the people in charge ARE dying felons that rape children and have no morals, and the government doesn’t even want to try and check or balance itself.

FN P90 because they are objectively the coolest guns

The white brick at the bottom is for detecting large objects (cars) and is either controlling a traffic signal, or is being used to count traffic going through that spot.
An intersection near me uses them to switch the lights at an intersection where traffic almost never comes from, so a timed light is unnecessary, but important traffic still comes from that direction.

More like “YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-s sir, please stomp on me harder with your big heavy boots”

Only if you participate in an instance that tracks such things.
I know startrek.website tracks individual comments and posts, but not overall. So I would have to go back and check each individual comment and add up the total if I cared to find out how many points I have accumulated.
I know some don’t track any at all.
I know lemmy.world tracks at least comment votes.
I understand that a basic point system allows people to sort comments a little easier, but it really can reinforce echo chambers.
I am guilty of often sorting posts with dozens of comments by top vote ranking, but I try to just do oldest to newest comments.
You need another stone that has gaps slotted into it to slide against the cupped stone. That helps keep things flat. Not perfect but good enough for my knife making hobby.
I don’t need computers to eat.
Yet.

The Trump Files (feat. Jeff Epstein)
For my regular headphones, not much. I can use the buttons on them to cycle through sound modes (no modification, sound canceling, and external mics) as well as the normal things like switch volumes, tracks etc.
Once I got the update, I deleted the app and got an older one. If they make it mandatory somehow, I’ll just not use the app and get different brand headphones when these break.
I use apkmirror to get old versions of apps

it was a guarantee to:
respect Ukraine’s territory (which Russia vialoted, the US didn’t) bring any violations to the UN security council (which was done, but with Russia having veto power, useless)
Most people I speak to have the impression that any attack on Ukraine meant the US would jump into full scale war mode to defend them. Honestly I wish it were. At least then it would have been harder for the Biden administration to essentially ignore.
“here’s a bunch of old equipment, good luck buddy” was technically more than required, but grossly inadequate.

As an American in my 30s…
Just don’t trust anything the US says, period.
Who knows if our 4-year mood/tantrum cycle will honor the deal in 15 years, let alone 5.
Surely imperialist countries with interests in an area wouldn’t go and lie about things???
Next you’re gonna tell me the US lied about WMDs in 2001…
