It was already a dead franchise. Worst case it’ll stay that way. But I’m not without hope, as not all Amazon adaptations are bad, e.g. The Expanse or The Boys.

On the other hand I don’t know how to feel about Emmerich being involved. I think he always disliked the direction the series took after his (very different and IMO inferior) movie.

The wizard was called “Le Sorcier”. Lovecraft wrote that story when he was 17, so I think we can cut him some slack that it wasn’t a masterpiece.
