The UK literally created Israel.

After WWI the Brits controlled the area under mandate in the Treaty of Versailles. In 1917 the UK issued the Balfour Declaration pledging support for the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine.

Post WWI, the Brits sponsored heavy Jewish immigration into Palestine. After WWII, they explicitly supported Israeli independence.

It’s horrible, but this IS humanity. Humans have been doing shit like this since time immemorial.

Well, Osama bin Laden publicly taking credit for the attack was a big part.

He was known to be in Afghanistan, known to be part of al-Qaeda, and the Taliban was known to be sheltering and supporting Al-Qaeda.

The Taliban was the internationally recognized government of Afghanistan, which isn’t they were never declared a terrorist organization. When they outright said they would not extradite bin Laden to the US and openly refused to shut down terrorist bases or extradite other terrorists, the US invaded.

Don’t let the clusterfuck of the politics around Iraq cloud the invasion of Afghanistan. That one was extremely straightforward. The government of Afghanistan harbored and sheltered bin Laden, who very publicly claimed credit for 9/11, and then refused to do anything about it afterward.

Not proofreading texts should have zero bearing on being able to write and deploy software because it should be proofread several times before the actual prod deployment. Hell it very likely isn’t even the same person doing the deployment that wrote the code.

Yeah that’s what the MRs are supposed to be for. To catch those and proofread.

There shouldn’t be any changes at all from the last test to going to production though. Even cleaning up comments.

Code should ideally be going through tests before prod anyway. There should be no code changed from successful test to prod. Proofreading shouldn’t matter at that point. Just scheduling the actual deploy.

A trade embargo is not the same as a blockade.

Cuba maintains trade relations with 160 different countries. The US doesn’t prevent them from trading with other countries and doesn’t block ships to and from Cuba. They just block US companies from trading with Cuban businesses.
