How do they block it exactly? Do they block it the way most public Wifi does, or do they go an extra step and attempt to block trackers? If it’s the former it’s possible to bypass it, but it will limit how fast or good the torrenting experience will be.

Also MAC address spoofing. Use it when using public connections, makes it so they can’t track your device easily or ban the device from the networks. It should go without saying to use this but people don’t talk about this, and I think certain people would rather people not know about it at all.

You shouldn’t use the term sideloading to describe installing apps from alternative sources, that just makes it seem like it’s some weird and different, possibly unintended thing. When it is an intended part of an open ecosystem.

Steam DRM can be bypassed without even modifying the game files (using open-source software no less), it is not the boogeyman people say it is. If the internet broke, or Steam was gone you could still easily play these games, and software like Goldberg would be well accepted by people.

If it is allowing you to connect to servers which require premium accounts it is a form of hacking since you are bypassing access control on a server you don’t own.

Even though like 90% of Minecraft server owners are pieces of shit and about 70% of those are P2W servers doing it for money it’s still not a good idea.

I think a big problem is that the majority of their plugin system is based on Python and when they switched from python 2.7 to python 3 they both fractured and largely in my opinion ruined the ecosystem. And maybe they did do that because people were using it for piracy. I said back then that it would cause fracturing and fallout, but people just said I was stupid.

It really sucks sinc Kodi and LibreElec is probably the only UI out there for Linux devices for a TV type environment with remote/arrow key navigation. The only real other one out there is Gamescope/Steam but that’s more of a Gaming focused one.

They just don’t have any DRM on the client, but to answer your question in the past people didn’t call it piracy, they called it not using Minecraft with a premium account.

The only reason we do now is because Mojang and Microsoft removed the ability to play the demo mode from the official launcher (which is a piece of garbage by the way) and told people they needed to pay to play Minecraft. This is probably one of the best ones out there, it’s based on a fork of Prism which has authlib support and FTB modpack support, and also has the Microsoft account DRM removed so you can use it without a valid Microsoft account.

Hopefully when it does drop out of Beta and they start charging people for activation people will be willing to crack it and use it for free.
