Yeah but our demands were lower, we could fill a whole screen with like 300x240 pixels and we were happy.
My first was monochrome, black and green. It was ghastly and I loved it.

2·2 days agoThat’s like when I found 50 cent in between the couch pillows. We all know why he’s down there staring up!
I will never have anything to do with any nation that under ANY circumstance demand to be the sole source of truth.
There’s a whole world out there and you pick NZ?!
I’ve still to find any geo-restriction on AUS and NZ sites from Bahamas and considering how AUS and NZ have acted on average the last five years, I’m not browsing the internet from either even if on an anon VPN.
I do understand their reasons, yet the majority of lemmy.world is shitposting assholes so there’s some flaws somewhere…
My VPN provider has no legal obligation to work directly with my national law enforcement and if there’s an international warrant for my internet traffic, there’s no logs.
I don’t want ANYBODY knowing what I do on the interwebs even if it’s just personal stuff not a james bond villain crime webring.
And TOR over VPN is so standard several VPN providers have TOR exit nodes, though that negates a lot of the no-trust chain of TOR.
When I bought cigars factory made, smuggled out and sold in shacks in Havanna I doubt it was part of the staged tour - Considering the staged tour was in the factory itself and we were told it was strickly forbidden to buy cigars straight from the factory workers. So we became friendly with them instead and met up after they finished their shift and went to their home shack where we had dinner together, dealt Cohibas and Romeo y Julieta and talked about how life in Cuba was.
But why ask? Have I even said anything about Cuba in this thread beyond that I’ve been there too? Perhaps you’re just an idiot?
You have physically been to a website? And you call me delusional? I was talking about lemmy.world, but we could always talk about Cuba as I’ve been there too.
Edit: I don’t think I will actually bother with this. May your understanding of the world surpass your understanding of context. Good bye.

7·3 days agoMaybe I’m missing something but when she welcomed me to the world of automated licence plate registration, it’s old news to me. These systems have been implemented across the world on local levels for decades, I have no doubt there’s illegal data retrieval from these systems by law enforcement and intel agencies.
What even is “Parallel construction”?
Not to mention GPS built into newer cars, accessing the mobile network where every single cell allows for triangulation. And personal phones. And facial recognition. And door cameraes. And so on.
This battle was lost 20 years ago, regular people are just too demoralized to care if it’s done out in the open now. As always, the best time to adapt was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.
Reddit and other non-free social media is the result of capitalism, have you considered similar negative effects would occur if the opposite world view was in power?
Reddit is part of the culture war. Lemmy.ml is part of the culture war. Lemmy.world is part of the culture war. Everything is part of the culture war.
If that’s your gold standard for a pile of shit, have you considered that you’ve been fooled to be content with a polished turd?
On the open net? Sure thing!
This is why I exclusively shitpost from anonymous accounts on someone else’s server using VPN or TOR.
Edit: You’ll never catch me alive, copper!
