21·25 days agoI bought one of the anbernic rg 351 devices 2 or 3 years ago (before I got a steam deck), and I still use it. It’s a nifty device with some cool community support for firmware and ports.
An iPhone doesn’t have buttons or a dpad for comfortable gaming. A steam deck doesn’t have the portability that these devices have. But it’s not for everyone, and could be landfill for most people.

Games@sh.itjust.works•Are you ready for a $1,000 Steam Machine? Some analysts think you should be.English
4·1 month agoCompeting with the console prices is not likely. Not only will they probably sell hardware at a loss, but they step on Sony and Microsoft territory, with whom they have deals to bringing games to steam.
Selling at a loss works for consoles because games will recoup the loss. For pc there is no guarantee. If the steam box is that cheap, corporate sector will order steam machines (by the 100s or 1000s), without guarantee to recoup the loss.

With proton, this is less and less the case.

Sorry, I apparently don’t know how to read. Thanks.
