Not to be reductionist, but as a fellow NJ alum, my assumption was entirely that everyone conjures the image in their head of the factories and general urban decay you encounter as soon as you cross the Delaware memorial. I get it, but it was unironically named the Garden State because it was once apart of the bread basket of the first 13, and it’s honestly quite verdant and pleasant throughout.
