  • That’s just flat out wrong. Plenty of bars and pubs have Superbowl events here in Melbourne. In the US it’s Superbowl Sunday but what with time difference the game is actually played here around midday on a Monday, so many bars open specially for the game. They have chicken wing food specials and decorations and things.

If I’m being totally honest I think some of the popularity might be that it gives people an excuse to take a day off work and go to the pub first thing on a Monday, but everyone has a good time.

Even people who don’t go to events and don’t care about the football will look up the halftime show on YouTube or whatever, especially last year when Kendrick Lamar played, or the Xmas game where Beyonce did a halftime show.

  • I work in hospitality and while all your points are valid I do wish there was a solution that allowed a little wiggle room accounting for good communication and personal responsibility.

There area where I live has dozens of small bars and pubs and my issue with every single place accommodating every possible allergic reaction and preference is that they can kind of end up samey. I’m not saying it’s realistic but I don’t think it’d be a bad thing for Pub A to say Dogs are fine but no kids please as long as Pub B says Kids are great but no dogs and Pub C can say No kids or dogs but weird sex shit is fine. A man can dream!
