1·2 months agoI stated digging coal is bad in any case. My point is your blaming the US as the major contributor is inaccurate based on the numbers.

1·2 months agoYes we do, China burns 4.5 BILLION tons year so as I said, we export a small fraction of what they use. So again your statement that the US is the BIG problem is wrong. I agree we don’t need to dig coal for fuel anymore. But your assumption this is a US problem isn’t even close to the whole picture.

31·2 months agoBuilding new coal plants in any country at any time is absolutely NOT a good solution. The USA also exports only a small fraction of what China uses to them. So I don’t see how the US is the “big problem” in this specific case. The majority of their coal come from Indonesia. Creating a combination of nat gas, hydro nuclear and solar infrastructure is the best solution. I’m not talking out of my ass here, I’m a mechanical engineer in the stationary engineering field working at a major power plant.

71·2 months agoThat’s interesting. China and India still primarily use coal for electricity generation. Neither are considered developing nations. Many poor countries use coal because its cheap and easy to transport. Instead of throwing money at poor countries why not build natural gas lines and/or nuke plants.

9·3 months agoWe as a people need to stop listening to this guy or anything he says. Its a fucking bummer because I remember years and years ago when he seemed like a really cool innovative genius. Now he’s shone himself to be a consistent liar and jerk. Stop letting this dudes bullshit words have any impact. Especially on the market…

Strange they don’t include all the brand new coal plants China is building along side their renewables. Having a cleaner (gas)fossil fuel backup isn’t a bad thing, having the most filthy possible backup is. I hate that the USA burns as much coal as it does too. Although, USA is number 2 in new renewables and total renewable production, without new coal plants. Unfortunately, I don’t see this bullshit administration growing that renewables number to rival China. Unless your country has zero economic capabilities, you should not burn coal for electricity period. I’ve got a lot of interest in this new CO2 battery tech, I see it being a major key in 100% renewables that can handle fluctuations.
