Democrats are controlled opposition paid by the exact same donors as the openly fascist republicans. Just because they don’t want to actively kick out brown people and take basic rights does not meant that they aren’t perfectly willing to continue those policies elsewhere.

There is no true opposition party in the US because it is a dual party system meaning there will always be an “underdog opposition” fighting for a silent majority which magically never appears.

What does get people active is real opposition politics, not stale milquetoast Democratic walk-back policies meant to appease the republicans.

Blaming the Dems consistent failures on “leftists” as if everyone left of the dems is some cohesive entity is not only a strawman argument, but is actively covering for their failures and willingness to participate as the neo-liberal wing of this fascist empire.

America. During occupation we forced Japan to make marijuana, hemp and every other drug illegal. Partially its said to force our own ideas of morality on Japan. Part of it was specifically to destroy the Japanese hemp industry which was quite large at the time, to the point were Hokkaido has a large wild hemp/marijuana population that is actively watched and destroyed still.
