As a dutch person: hehehehheeheheheh
Why bring it here? We’re as fucked as the rest of the west, haven’t they heard?
According to the DNB this move has nothing to do with the political climate in the US i.e. Donald Trump.
But I think most Dutchies share in my relive that the bulk of our national gold reserves are now stored in places that are actually safe from foreign interference.
Are they just saying that to avoid retribution?
I suspect that part of the reason they’re also taking gold out of Canada is to give themselves plausibility when they say that it’s not a knock against the USA.
100%
I mean of course they would say that, but it’s pretty obvious the financial situation in the US is deteriorating.
It deteriorated significantly almost 20 years ago and has never recovered. The US will no longer be able to finance or even service their their debt without a major change very soon. The Trump admin is here to usher that change in.
So who do we look to now for liberty, equality and fraternity? France again?
Hahaha, non, keep looking
You looked to Magastan for democracy (and always hoped that they never decided to export it to your country), never for those “French things” that sound extremely communist for a Magastani.
Tell me more about how a wealth tax will cause American divestment.
Ottawa held 19.7%
Whoa had no idea there was so much gold being stored here
I find it suspicious that reuters didn’t report this. I see more bias in their coverage monthly.
sure about that? what about this BBC report having reuters as source?
The BBC is way less credible than reuters, yet still better than NPR. Reuters is letting their business clientele go to their head.
This is a nothing burger with Fritessaus (a creamy mayo like sauce with mustard that is a Dutch condiment.)
They didn’t even move most of the gold. They sold their US holdings and bought UK holdings. And the reason probably has more to do with the Euro’s rearming for potential war with Russia than anything else. As much as I don’t like the orange madman this isn’t like the tariff situation with Canada.
And “going Dutch” is a term for a reason.
Mayo and Mustard? Let me wretch. How could anyone not prefer mustard?
