Yes very unpopular among people I’ve talked to in the US. People think nuclear power plants leak radiation and any one could be the next Chernobyl.
I think that most people who say this shouldn’t really have an opinion one way or another, they’re not in the energy sector and are just people who’ve watched some youtube videos and read a few articles.
