If you think it’s a slur then you dom’t understand the meaning of the term. Or how argentinians use it, at least. No more facts for now though. Thanks for asking!
Oh yeah, one more thing, it’s funny how you’re just taken aback by the term by can’t even refute it or understand your own mental simplicity. I needed a laugh today :)
I honestly don’t know how you could be more mistaken. Given your condition, allow me to explain.
Gallego can be used simply to say that a person is from spain (regardless of where in spain). It is also colloquially used when someone does something very dumb or fails to understand something very simple. It’s directed at the action, not the person and even though it is related to spain, it’s not because we hat spain. Is it weird that we don’t consider it offensive or a slur? Yeah. Is it the only “insult” or whatever that we use like that? Nope. The word “negro” is also used in so many ways that I can’t keep count.
In your specific case, you seem to fail to grasp the concept of people travelling to different countries without losing ther nationality. I clearly said that I watched in rome and spaniards barely celebrated. It’s obvious that I was referring to actual spaniards watching it in rome. But you keep repeating “rome isn’t spain”? Are you trying to tell me that you know first grade geography or just that you lack any sort of reading comprehension skills?

This is awesome he just can’t stop digging. My guy, you’re doubling down on top of your mistake of not understanding that calling someone a “Gallego” as an insult is offensive to people.
It is derogatory but not an insult. It’s what we call a “gastada”. The type of thing you say to someone being too naive, dumb, etc. If it gets to you that much, I don’t know what to say. It’s not that bad, get over it.
Literally typed that once.
You need to say it more than once to sound obtuse?
I don’t know what to say to this.
There’s nothing you can say. Yout tried the shoe on and it was the perfect size. Nationality matched and everything. Sometimes stereotypes exist for a reason xD

Lol, it’s not my fault you’re honouring the meaning of the term.

My guy, it’s offensive because you don’t get it. It’s fine. I don’t care. I’ll keep using it and you’ll keep crying about it.
