As per usual, if any sort of exchange happens with my comment here, I fully expect to have my comments deleted, for “spreading hate” or some stupid pretense.
In reality, they will be deleted when I refuse to accept blatant nonsense.

Fact: I was aware of the existence of piefed, but gave zero fucks about it. The specific reason that I looked further into piefed, was some .ml user chirping them in a software update announcement.
I saw that, reflected on how I’ve been treated by .ml moderators, and signed up.
Either admit that you’re fine with censorship in general but don’t like it being used against you, or move to an instance that is more broadly federated.
I’m on piefed specifically because of how .ml is moderated, and because it causes consternation in people who insist that Stalin was a really good guy.

Piefed is baking these tools into the code itself, Lemmy doesn’t. Communists aren’t opposed to censorship unilaterally, disinformation can and should be removed (along with bigotry, etc.). However, Rimu is waging a crusade against Lemmy’s left-wing userbase and is trying to consolidate a viewpoint that aligns with, well, Rimu, in the code itself.

The issue is that there are no moderators on .ml like the communists you’re describing here.
Joining piefed was an easy decision, after being at the receiving end of .ml moderation.
The issue is that the Lemmy.ml moderators are largely communists and you got censored for spouting fascist views and disinformation.
The issue is the complete acceptance of authoritarianism, and the inability to accept criticism of same.
Reflexively shouting fascist in the face of criticism of authoritarianism just falls dead on the floor to me.
“Authoritarianism” is not a thing. All states wield authority, what distinguishes them above all is in which class’s interests, and this is determined by which class is in control of the state. You weren’t reflexively called a fascist, you were called a fascist after dehumanizing ethnicities of people whose state you opposed, and the fact that you support neo-Nazi groups.

You being justifiably dunked on is different from you being labeled as propaganda, and then hiding your from our user base with hardcoded rules in the code because those pesky users can’t be trusted with choosing their sources of information.
