Fuckin’ truth!
This is the biggest reason why we need to fix wealth inequality; there’s no good having such a rich variety of ingredients if nobody can afford to put the gas on (start small businesses and keep them going) and the locals can’t afford to eat out (spend disposable income).
The reason this poem is framed like a recipe is because sharing a meal together is one of the most fundamental human experiences that is the beginning of building trust and community.
The sheer undervalued potential in UK communities is staggering, that’s why it needs investment, that’s why we need to fix the wealth inequality for a better balance.
Together this country could cook up a multi-course shared meal so delicious we could have the whole world queuing out the door!
It would be an improvement on Reform/Tory/Labour current policy of spitting in the food in the hope that nobody wants to come here any more.
Personally, I’m glad that people from other countries have emigrated here, it means that maybe our food will finally have flavour.
