I did regular reddit meetups about 6 years ago. Did them for 3 years.
They were started by me (a woman) and two other women redditors.
Us 3 were the first meetup. We posted a photo in the local city.
Next meetup was about half gals, half men. Maybe 20 people.
We have a pic. But. Since me and my friend who posted the first photo- accounts are perma banned I can’t seem to find it.
Well.
Here is what I found on my imgur looking for it. Vintage meme. Enjoy.
Oh also I visited Amsterdam once. And just so happened to be a reddit meetup. So I went with some dude I met at the hostel. His name was Trey. He was douchey but okay company, I guess.
Met some cool Canadian guy though that I’m still friends with on fb.
Anywho. Plenty of chicks there too. Near 50/50.
Needs more trans
Tap for something you can never unsee

No way is this AI lol
Adding to other replies, a lot of people look like clones of each other too. I guess there is not a lot of photos labeled “redditor” online.
i didnt believe it either until I looked at the cans and the funko pop
Ah yep, the logos are all wrong on the drink cans.
I can smell this picture.
Smells like datacenter
Until you look at text, it’s astonishingly accurate
Just came to ask how many sets of twins or triplets there are. Looks like quite a few.
If this is AI, it’s the most convincing one I’ve ever seen, I can’t spot any artifacts at all.
There are a few bits of text on the background shirts that are unreadable. Also the cans and Funko pop box on the table. A few of the background posters on the wall also make no visual sense either.
It is AI, but it’s pretty damn convincing. If someone were to come around and say “actually, this is a performance art piece making a statement about the inauthenticity of online community, where they handmade fake AI melty graphics in the real world for a photo,” I could also be convinced of that.
The logos on the cans being broken is the only thing I can look at and say for sure is an AI artifact. Everything else is just not clear enough to say whether it’s a compression artifact, just too far away for the camera to capture the text, or an AI artifact.
Good spotting.
The Rick and Morty shirt on the right side is also pretty strange. The logo is impressively accurate but the characters on it are definitely not any character I’ve ever seen
Even then I still can’t tell if it’s that or just a lorez image plus compression
Additionally, that’s the biggest slice of pizza I’ve ever seen. The box it’s is too small to fit the whole pizza that slice has been cut out of.
That just looks like half of the pizza, not a slice. The box edge is covering
Look at the shirts.
OK. What am I looking for?
Look close at the Rick and Morty shirt.
You’re really bad at explaining things.
What’s wrong with the shirt?
You’re really bad at looking at shirts.
Which character is Rick? Which is Morty?

Now understand that half the shirts have artifacts.
Look at them.
Dunno, I don’t watch the show.

Or check out this guys hand
OK, that’s definitely an AI artifact.
Now do Lemmy
I said lemmy not my local sys-admin meetup!

Implying it would look any different

all around me are redditor faces
Worn-out subs, Worn-out faces…
The average reddit user is Indian though. This isn’t really accurate to the demographic.
Right is incognito mode
Family reunion!
