Following abortion decriminalisation, analysis from openDemocracy and the Fuller Project reveals the UK far right is pushing anti-abortion talking points into mainstream political debate.

For example, I would consider myself “anti abortion” but I believe it should be an option in cases of rape, serious risk to mother’s life or a very definite fatal foetal abnormality. I’m not in favour of investigating/witchhunting/prosecuting people who get abortions despite that, though.

This consultation by Ulster University and Queen’s University Belfast shows that 71% of people from NI believe it’s a woman’s right to choose (data is from 2018).

The statistics were showing 20-30% in some regions of the UK. That’s a minority, but definitely not fringe
