Results vary because it depends on the power of that particular country’s equivalent to a constitution. You couldn’t get away with Trump levels of draconianism in the UK but that still leaves a lot of wiggle room.
All that said this whole story is very confusing, there doesn’t seem to be any evidence of a crime having been committed and yet it still went to court and she was told to plead guilty? That really doesn’t sound right. I suspect there’s more detail to the story that we haven’t been told.
