how do you think we should rally people in gaza into collective action and revolutionary optimism?
people in gaza DIDN’T deserve to get pushed aorund and genocided and such by the militaries of israel, and they should unite and revolt against israel’s government. seriously!
lmao, great job pretending you’re no longer “both sides-ing” a genocide. There are plenty of settlers in Gaza. Israel protects them from getting “pushed around” already.
are you from hexbear?
oh and this is my 400th comment here on this lemmy instance. seriously!
I do have an account there as well, yep! But I run across your bad takes browsing the All/New feed here.
do you have any thoughts, do you think i should study and brush up on socialist/communist theory, and do you have any tips on making it easy and fun?
This isn’t a substitute for reading theory, but some podcasts that might help with some of the basics in a more entertaining format include: Citations Needed, Red Menace, and The Deprogram.
Here’s a selection of episodes that might help on Palestine & not both-sidesing genocide in particular, though I haven’t listened to any of these recently:
Citations Needed:
- Episode 28: The Asymptotic ‘Two State Solution’ (Part I)
- Episode 29: The Asymptotic ‘Two State Solution’ (Part II)
- Ep 207: US-Backed Killing of Journalists in Gaza and the Limits of “Freedom of the Press” Sloganeering
- Episode 212: Gaza and the Political Utility of Selective Empathy
- Episode 214: Fake Ceasefire Talks and Feigned ‘Concern’ - How US Media Helped Distance Biden From the Gaza Genocide
- Ep 226: The Importance of ‘Seriousness,’ or Why Palestinians Can’t Be Witness to Their Own Genocide (Part I)
- Ep 227: The Importance of ‘Seriousness,’ or Why Palestinians Can’t Be Witness to Their Own Genocide (Part II)
- Ep 230 - How To Oppose Genocide Without Opposing Genocide (Part 1): Biden World’s Reputation Laundering PR Tour
- Ep 231 - How To Oppose Genocide Without Opposing Genocide (Part 2): AIPAC Dems’ Fake Israel Criticisms
Red Menace:
- Understanding Settler Colonialism in Israel and the United States
- Decolonizing Palestine: Toward National Liberation in the Levant
The Deprogram (I haven’t listened to these two yet, but am assuming they’re decent):
I think the much better use of our time is to rally people in the countries funding the genocide to stop it in its entirety. Respectfully this genocide has been going on for almost 2 and half years and the occupation has been ongoing for almost 80…the Palestinian people do not need western help mustering together optimism or the will to remain. What they cannot do is fight back in substantive ways against overwhelming force while being starved both literally of food and just about every other life saving resource they could possibly need.
how?
