I don’t have any inside information, I’ve just read lemmy comments about it, but apparently there are a lot of source IP’s they block. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a reason why, but I’m guessing for either legality or privacy reasons.
My condolences to you. A VPN might help, though I think those are a lot of what they block. My phone (which is my primary method of accessing lemmy) has an always on VPN; some endpoints work for catbox, some don’t.

Some ISPs have decided to lick the boot. They abuse their position and alter DNS results, among their many other sins.
Catbox is blocked in a lot of countries iirc.
